FAQ
What is the difference between a provisional and fully registered psychologist?
A provisional psychologist has completed their graduate education and is practicing under the supervision of an experienced registered psychologist while completing the final requirements for full registration. A fully registered psychologist has completed all licensing requirements and practices independently.
Both provisional and fully registered psychologists are regulated by their provincial licensing body, adhere to the same ethical standards, and are qualified to provide psychological services. The right choice depends on your preferences, needs, and insurance coverage. If you’re unsure which provider is the best fit, our team is happy to help.
Do you offer direct billing?
Yes! Please see “Our Services” and scroll to the bottom to see the list of providers we can direct bill to! Please check with your provider for coverage details, and don’t hesitate to reach out if you have any specific direct billing questions.
How much do sessions cost?
50-minute session: $235
80-minute session: $352
What is your cancellation policy?
Cancellations require a minimum of 48 hours’ notice. Missed appointments or late cancellations without 48 hours’ notice may be subject to a fee equal to the full session cost.
Please note: No-show and late cancellation charges are not covered by insurance.
How do I book an appointment?
Appointments can be scheduled via our website, by phone, or by email. We recommend booking in advance to secure your preferred time slot.
What should I expect in my first session?
- Your first session typically involves:
- Discussing your reasons for seeking therapy or assessment
- Gathering personal, medical, and psychological history
- Setting goals for treatment or assessment
- Answering any questions you may have about the process
How do I choose a therapist?
Finding the right therapist is an important part of the therapy process. You can browse our therapist profiles to learn about each clinician’s experience, areas of focus, and therapeutic approach.
Not sure who would be the best fit? We’re happy to help. Contact our administrative team by phone or email, and we’ll take the time to learn about your needs, preferences, and goals before recommending a therapist who may be a good match.
Are sessions confidential?
Yes. All sessions are confidential, in accordance with professional and legal standards. Information will only be shared with your consent or as required by law (e.g., risk of harm to self or others).
Do you offer services for children and teens?
We currently provide therapy for teens aged 16 and older with parental or guardian consent, where appropriate.
Children’s therapy is coming soon! We’re looking forward to expanding our services to support younger clients in the near future.
Can therapy be done online?
Yes. We offer secure virtual sessions for clients who prefer to meet from home or who live outside the local area. Online sessions are confidential and follow the same professional standards as in-person therapy.
Important: Virtual sessions can only be provided if the client is located within the jurisdiction where the therapist is licensed to practice. Sessions cannot be conducted across provincial or international borders if the therapist is not registered in that location.
